A new creation story

He is referring to one of several equations of physics that take broadly the same form, that is, some particular derivative of a particular matrix (yes, a tensor isn't strictly speaking a matrix but it helps to picture it that way) is equal to zero. It is usually, in one form or another, related to conservation of some kind of energy (more precisely, of stress-energy-momentum) density, be it for an electromagnetic field, for the energy density of matter in the universe, or of a fluid in motion.

That they all take the same form is here emphasized as being beautiful and divine. I would argue they only take the same form because we like to make conservation of energy obvious in our equations and value it dearly.
