The Making Of
Script by Lorenz Lammens
PAGE 10
Panel 1
The Time Traveler and a bank manager can be seen through the door of a secured safe box room.
Caption (Time Traveller's thought):
Time is running out. Literally. I’ve got to get to my destination. Now!
Panel 2
The jovial bank manager opens a slot and removes the safe box, while Future watches him closely. The room looks a bit more impressive than the picture above, see picture to right for example.
The wall behind the guy on the picture example on the right would also covered with boxes in our bank. The safe boxes are wall to wall.
BANK ASSISTANT:
Will that be all, sir?
Panel 3
The Time Traveller watches the bank assistant leaving through the vaulted door.
Panel 4
Low angle shot of Future opening the safe box. Due to the angle we cannot see inside the box, just the suspenseful anticipation on Future’s face.
TIME TRAVELLER (thought):
Hello, old friend.
Panel 5
Eye level shot of Future’s face, angled to look at his open hand. In it lies a spider like creature, folded into itself into the shape of an orb (the orb is clearly in the foreground).
To the right is an example of a metal spider. I would like the body of the spider to be solid and the body and legs to be treated a little bit like Doc Oc’s arms In Spiderman 2. It’s important that the Spider look somewhat robotic and not intended to actually look like a spider (it is actually a neurological interface and matter manipulator). 2 of its legs claw into the spine and brain of the wearer and the others manipulate matter to help it build whatever it needs to build. None of this needs to be obvious at this stage, but should be known by you for future reference. In our picture the body of the techno spider is hunched, its legs locked one into the other so that it in fact resembles a ball.
TIME TRAVELLER (thought):
You never liked me much. But today you’re getting your chance to save the world… from me.
Panel 6
Over the shoulder look of the Time Traveller touching a device on his wrist that opens up a vortex (vortex effect is same as on page 1.) Perhaps the vortex could show an apocalyptic view of destroyed Washington DC (see pic below). The White House dome wouldn’t be there completely, as the roof and the front of the building have crumbled.
Panel 7
View from behind. The Time Traveller floats up into the air, pulled by the force of the Vortex. He is swallowed up by it. The atoms in his body accelerate. The atoms of the front of his body are torn in straight lines through the vortex, the back of his body hanging in the air as a ghostly remains, waiting to be devoured by the vortex.
I like the first picture on the right, but of course we need to see Frank from behind. The pose however does give a sense of the man surrendering to the force pulling at him.
The second picture is an alternative if you preferred the pose from behind...
TIME TRAVELLER (thought):
I must leave here before it’s too late. I’ve got to face him…
