The Making Of
Script
PAGE 1
Panel 1
1934. Helicopter view in a room that is battered. Broken lights, shattered decorum surround the body of a stabbing victim. The P.I., the hero of our story, looks down on the body as he recounts what happened in the room to a police detective. The police are examining the crime scene.
NOTE: It is important that the way Stanley carries his gun is always portrayed as a shoulder holster. This does not need to be obvious, but matters later on.
CAPTION
1934. Chicago. South-side.
CAPTION
Murder is big business.
CAPTION
At least it is for me.
P.I.
The murderer is 6 foot tall, has blond hair and blue eyes. He killed the victim with a kitchen knife, took his time about it, too.
DETECTIVE
Gee, that’s swell. I mean... you get all that from just looking at the crime scene?
