Damaged Universe #0 - Page 1 / A Webcomic

The Making Of

This prequel to the series Damaged Universe is the first script I have ever written. It was a challenging story, because it has a lot of exposition. It sets up all 9 story arcs for the series and introduces all the elements that bind these various arcs together while trying to present the reader with a story that could be read on its own.

While producing the final version of this story my house flooded, forcing me to move my family out for several weeks now, I got a stomach bug at the same time and am in the process of developing several other webcomics, finalizing a 6-issue story arc to submit to a major publisher while finishing off another submission. I'm pretty proud that through all the upheavals, we managed to keep all projects on track and want to thank the amazing team working on this book for all the hard work they put in delivering this comic on time. This story was lovingly made by the amazing Mariano Navarro (penciler), the stunning Fernando Arguello (flatter), the astonishing Ross Hughes (colorist), the uncanny Taylor Esposito (letterer) and the magnificent Martin Silva who helped me edit the book and gently taught me how to be more than just a writer.

This book is a team effort and I am extremely grateful for every creative on this book that worked with me and helped me become a better comic book creator.

Panel 2.
A young couple exits the entrance of the hospital. The husband walks with his newborn in his arms. Next to him is his wife, being pushed in a wheelchair by a nurse.

MOTHER:
He looks just like you, Bryan.

FATHER:
Are you telling me I look all crumpled and wrinkled?

MOTHER:
Oh, stop it!

Panel 3.
The new father is stopped in his tracks by a violent effect materializing before him. He clutches his baby tight, while he stops in his tracks, startled.

FATHER:
What the…

Panel 4.
A man in a black suit, sporting the Time Keeper logo on his chest and thick leather army coat materializes out of the effect, blocking the way of the three shocked adults. He looks surprised at himself.

His black, tight fitting suit is adorned with a white logo on his chest. It looks like a cross between an infinity symbol on its side and an hourglass filled at the top. The top part of the 8 shape is intersected by a globe in its right curve.

TIME TRAVELLER (exclamation):
I've made it!
