The Making Of
Script by Lorenz Lammens
Panel 1
Aerial view of an apocalyptic Washington DC. To the left of the panel we hover over a broken Washington Monument (symbolizing the end of America). The point of the obelisk lies on scattered, half a mile away on the lawn, as if it had been hit away by a massive, vengeful hand. Beyond it, the city of Washington DC lies in ruins, the buildings crumbled under a red, toxic sky. But one tiny part remains: proud buildings rise from dead winter trees surrounding the area, the atmosphere is radically different from the nuclear surroundings. It is in fact winter in this last vestige of humanity.
In this panel, we don’t necessarily need to see the atmospheric conditions of this vestige, but it does need to be clear that there is a part of the city that remains untouched, buildings that rise over ruins.

Washington DC. 5 years from NOW.
Panel 2
High angle shot of a busy street in Washington DC (see example to the right for angle, no need to have the camera that far out, but that decision is up to you), Christmas eve. The time traveller steps from the vortex into the street, people around him ignore him, unfazed by the strange apparition of the man.
The people walk around without the usual festive air about them, carrying the weight of their packages with a grim determination, almost oblivious to the snowflakes that make this a white Christmas (see an example of a panel by Enki Bilal with people walking around with little emotion, going about their business. In our panel, the angle would change and their grim, mechanical mood would be in high contrast with the festive surroundings). The street is crowded. Please note that people do wear 21st century current day clothing.
For the Christmas decor, I imagine you know what to do, but if you want some visual examples, this link might help.

because they don't want to see me.
